There are 2 versions of this writing frame for Christmas - one shows black and white pictures and one is colour. Children can talk about the things they like at Christmas using their senses and experiences e.g. what they like to eat or watch on TV. They can then complete the sentences or draw a picture. A good resource for KS1, EYFS and SEND children. There are pictures to support children with their writing and communication.

A KS1 resource for children where they can make their own decorations for Christmas and New Year using the ideas here for inspiration and the template included. There is a poster showing colour examples of baubles with New Year images such as the year of the rabbit and 2023. There is a black and white poster showing written examples of how children can write their own greetings. Alternatively, children can cut out the baubles and add them to cards or the Christmas display / tree.

Here is a simple Autumn tale reading and writing activity. Children can read the text and fill in the missing words. The answers are given in red on the next slide and the pictures around the colour border help children with the words they need. There is a blank border page where children can make up their own Autumn tale and use the pictures to help them. Alternatively, they can draw a picture of the Autumn tale or an Autumn picture of their own. There are also colour flashcards without words and colour flashcards with words that can assist children with their reading and writing.

A differentiated phonics / writing worksheet activity for EYFS/KS1. There are 3 worksheets with a differentiated version of each. Each sheet shows 5 or 6 words and character pictures. Children find the correct word for each character and write it on the banner that the characters are holding. On the simpler version of the sheets, the words are there for children to trace or write underneath.

4 worksheets to support children with their handwriting and letter recognition and formation. Sheet 1 encourages children to look at the shapes of the letters with rounded parts, sound them and then write them, tracing over the dotted letters. Sheet 2 shows the letters with straight parts for children to overwrite. Sheets 3 and 4 asks the children to name the objects / pictures, sounding the initial letter and then forming the letters by overwriting. Letters are in capital form.

3 activity sheets based on the Corgi dog. A topical activity for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations due to her long association with the Corgi. Activity 1 is an outline writing frame for children to fill in about the Corgi dog. They will need to do some research. Questions include appearance, diet and an interesting fact. There is a filled in sheet to show as an example or to work from. Activity 2 shows 4 pairs of Corgi dogs for children to cut and match. Activity 3 is a colouring sheet of a Corgi.
